Mother Lode Epic

Founded in 2017, the Mother Lode Epic is the brainchild of Santa Cruz / Fox / Shimano Pro mountain biker Clint Claassen and his wife Jennifer. Clint trains regularly on these trails and wanted to create an event to showcase the area with a point-to-point race on trails that have never had a mountain bike race before.

The Mother Lode Epic is a unique single day stage format endurance race featuring five timed stages over 41 miles (32 miles of racing) and a mid-race boat transfer across Folsom Lake. The course follows California’s gold discovery route from the Magnolia Ranch Trailhead near Coloma to Historic Folsom.
