What to Expect

These camps are perfect for kids who:

  • Enjoy riding their bike, being active and playing outside.
  • Demonstrate essential riding skills such as controlled braking, riding up hills and appropriate shifting.
  • Enjoy adventure, discovery, and non-traditional learning environments.
  • Thrive in social, active and outdoor environments.
  • Can stay focused on task and follow group leader instructions.

Visit our FAQs page for specific skill level requirements for each grade.

What’s Required

  • A well fitted helmet and mountain bike.
All bikes must be in good working order. We will be equipped to make basic trailside repairs but we do not carry spare bikes or parts to give your child’s bike a tune-up during camp. Mountain bikes with at least front suspension and disc brakes are strongly recommended for 4th/5th and 678 camps.
  • Combination bike lock.
  • The ability to carry water & snacks, either on the bike or in a hydration pack.
  • A backpack with lunch, snacks, swimsuit & towel.
  • Life vest on the days we visit the lake.
  • A comfort level with being outdoors and active in our summer climate.
  • Recommended: Students should carry a correctly-sized spare tube. Our coaches will also be equipped with spares & tire levers, but this will ensure the right size tube is available for your child if they get a flat.

What’s Included

  • Summer Ride Camp t-shirt
  • Age- and ability-appropriate riding routes and destinations with experienced coaches and leaders.
  • Admission to any paid activity or rental, such as the Folsom Aquatics Center pool, kayak & paddleboard rentals, or museums.
  • Transportation of lunches & water-based activity supplies (like water balloons) to off-site locations.
