Many kids learn to ride a bike. Fewer grow up thinking of cycling as something more – a way to get around, stay healthy, compete, explore, or just be part of something. For most kids, few pathways exist to stay regularly involved and keep progressing after they start pedaling.
Grip Academy is Clipped In for Life’s answer to that gap – an after-school cycling program for kids in 8th grade and under with a unique approach to skill development. Classes give kids the skills and confidence to make riding a real part of their lives, and give parents the peace of mind that their kid can ride confidently and responsibly.
Riders progress through levels and earn colored grips as they advance – a system inspired by martial arts that makes growth visible and keeps the next goal in reach. The curriculum covers bike handling alongside traffic safety, basic maintenance, first aid, trail stewardship, and fitness. Classes are designed to meet kids where they are, regardless of age, experience, or background.
Whether a kid rides for competition, transportation, exercise, or just because it’s fun — Grip Academy gives them the foundation to do it with confidence.
Free trial class for new members! Our coaches will assess your child’s riding during the trial to help you find the right class.
Grip Academy sessions are three months long in the spring and fall.
