Let’s Get Kids Outside and Riding

The Youth Communities Access Summer Ride Camp is an all-day, full-week summer camp in Folsom that empowers youth to discover how bicycles are a tool for physical health, mental health, and an instrument to connect with nature and their community.

Kids spend the week riding trails, learning new skills, and exploring the outdoors through this special youth access program. Each camper receives a bike and gear to keep. Camp cost is just $25. No riding experience required.

Who This Opportunity Is For

  • Upcoming 2nd–8th Graders
  • Youth from low-income families or families facing financial barriers to outdoor recreation
  • Youth who may not otherwise have access to cycling opportunities

Camp Details

  • One-week summer day camp
  • Each camper receives a mountain bike, helmet, lock, and tools—all to keep
  • No prior biking experience required
  • Lunch provided each day
  • $25 program fee
  • Space is limited

Summer Ride Camp Schedule

All camps run from Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Folsom.

  • July 15–19: 2nd–3rd Grade
  • June 22–26: 4th–5th Grade
  • June 29–July 2: 6th–8th Grade
  • July 6–10: 2nd–3rd Grade
  • July 13–17: 4th–5th Grade
  • July 20–24: 6th–8th Grade

About the Program

Summer Ride Camp expands access to cycling for youth who have historically had fewer opportunities to participate in outdoor recreation. Families will be asked to provide basic household information as part of the application process.

This program is supported by the California Natural Resources Agency Youth Community Access Grant Programwhich works to improve youth access to natural and cultural resources across California. Funding for the Youth Communities Access Grant Program is provided by the Control, Regulate and Tax Adult Use of Marijuana Act (Proposition 64).
