Our Good News Mountain Bike Races started as pop-up races in early 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic created uncertain circumstances for pulling off events successfully. Our short course “Dirt Crit” race format was so well-received in the community – especially among middle and high school age racers – that we’ve added these pre-season mountain bike races to our permanent calendar.
What’s a Dirt Crit MTB course you ask? Well it’s got a bit of everything except big climbs, longer than a short track course, shorter than a cross country course, and all the fun of going all out on your MTB!
The goal of the Good News series is to provide fun, close racing for the seasoned racer and, simultaneously, a positive, attainable and welcoming experience for those new to racing on a short course designed to be supported easily by coaches, teams, and families. All ages and abilities are welcome with Grom. 678 and High School specific categories as well as adult skill/age groups.
