Registration & Pricing
Get Rollin’ Learn-to-Ride classes teach kids with some or no experience on a bike to stride, then ride! Classes are held outdoors at various locations in Folsom (see below table). These classes are a perfect fit for kids who:
- Have no experience on a bike
- Ride only with training wheels
- Ride on a balance bike and are ready to progress to pedals
Everyone learns at their own pace! This is an accelerated program, and some riders may benefit from multiple sessions. If your child is already pedaling without training wheels, please check out our Grip Academy after-school program.
Clipped In for Life reserves the right to combine and move classes based on registration numbers. Please scroll down to read our Refund & Transfer Policy before registering.

Your registration includes one class session. Some class sessions are an accelerated week-long session with class every day, with other sessions lasting one month long with classes twice a week. Class duration is around 45-minutes to one hour. See above table for specific dates and class times for each session.
Equipment
Kids Age 7+:
Kids in this age range will need to bring their own bike and helmet (our demo bikes are too small to provide a good learning experience). We start all kids learning in “balance mode,” so please remove any training wheels and pedals from your child’s bike before class. We are able to help with pedal removal on the first day of class.Ages 4-6:
Kids age 4-6 enrolled in the Get Rollin’ program have the option to use our demo fleet of Strider balance bikes and helmets. The Strider bikes we use are specially designed to teach kids the basics of two wheeled operation in “balance mode” using their legs for propulsion and when they’re ready, quickly convert to a pedal bike with coaster brake.Your child may bring their own balance and helmet, and our coaches will assess if they may benefit from borrowing one of our demo bikes. Please leave bikes with pedals and/or training wheels at home and use a bike from our fleet.
Curriculum
Kids in our Get Rollin’ camps will learn the following skills.
In balance mode, how to:
- Properly fit his/her own helmet
- Get on and off the bike without assistance
- Understand basic bike safety guidelines
- Look forward and far ahead while on the bike
- Walk, sit, stride and glide on a strider bike
- Stop with control, and on designated points
- Turn and navigate obstacles
In pedal mode, how to:
- Stride and put feet down around the pedals
- Keep feet on the pedals while in motion
- Rotate and control the pedals to propel forward
- Switch between striding and pedaling with control
- Properly brake using the coaster brake
Other goals:
- Ride comfortably around others
- Change and control speeds
- Basic traffic safety
- Emergency stop
- Begin to ride on dirt trails
Refund Policy
Get Rollin’ participants may request a refund for any reason up to two weeks before the first day of your scheduled session. Refund requests within this time frame must be submitted via email to community@clippedinforlife.org and are subject to a $10 service fee.
Refund requests will not be granted within two weeks of your scheduled session for any reason.
Date Transfers
Get Rollin’ participants may request to transfer their registration to another session for any reason up to two weeks before the first day of your scheduled session. Date transfer requests within this time frame must be submitted via email to community@clippedinforlife.org. If your desired class session is full, we will not be able to transfer your registration.
We do not offer rollovers or deferrals to a future year or to other Clipped In for Life events/programs. Entries cannot be transferred to another participant.
Cancellation/Postponement
Get Rollin’ classes are held outdoors and are therefore subject to cancellation or postponement due to weather. If we are unable to hold a class as planned, we will communicate a makeup plan to registered participants. We are unable to offer refunds in the case of weather cancellation/postponement.
