Yes, a mountain bike with at least front suspension and disc brakes is recommended. A lightweight, quality bicycle provides the opportunity to have the best experience possible each time your rider hits the trails. Make sure it’s in good working order before the ride club starts by getting a tune up at any of our area bike shops.
Please note that e-bikes are not permitted in the 678 Jr High MTB Ride Club without prior discussion with club organizers. Please reach out to us at community@clippedinforlife.org to discuss any adaptation needs.
Riders will be assigned to Ride Groups with similar speed/ability based on a time trial lap at the first ride day. Ride Groups will have at least 1 adult ride leader and 2-3 high school leaders assigned. This will be your group for the season; however, we can shift things around if you feel you are not in the right skill level after the first couple of ride days.
Groups are assigned based on your speed/ability, which we’ll assess during your time trial lap on the first ride day. We can’t guarantee you’ll be with your friends but you’ll make new riding buddies. This is important to ensure that our ride groups can stick together on the trails.
