FAQs

Got a question? You’re not alone. Check out our FAQs for our most commonly sought-after race info. If what you need isn’t here, shoot us an email at community@clippedinforlife.org.

  • Do I need a license to race?

A USAC license is required to race this event. Juniors, men and women racing in a USAC Cat that includes a level 5 license, purchase a one day license. All other categories require an annual USAC license. For all categories except Juniors, only annual license holders are eligible for championship awards. All racers are welcome, but only NCNCA District residents are eligible for awards. Registration price includes USAC insurance fee. Racing age is your age on December 31, 2024.

NICA Student Athletes are eligible for a free USAC license! Click here to submit a request.

  • What are the bike and tire requirements?

For Masters, Singlespeed and Elite championship categories, bike tire width must be 40mm or less. For all categories, flat bars are allowed without bar ends. No forward facing bars. No spiked or studded tires.

  • What is your refund policy?

No refunds for any reason. Race held rain or shine, though extreme weather may cancel.

Sacramento Cyclocross Race Credits cannot be used to register for NCNCA District Championships. NCNCA District Championship registration fees are not transferrable to Sacramento Cyclocross, West Coast Points Prestige, or any other Clipped In for Life event. Entries cannot be transferred to another racer.

  • Can I use a SacCX Race Credit for this race?

No, sorry! Sacramento Cyclocross race credits cannot be used to register for the NCNCA Cyclocross District Championships.

  • How do I return my RFID chip?

Return your blue RFID chip from the 2023 NCNCA CX District Championship race by March 1, 2024 for a full refund of your deposit.

Option 1.) Join us at a Sacramento Cyclocross Race
You can return your chip in person at any Sacramento Cyclocross race this season. And while you’re at it, you might as well race! You can use your same RFID chip; email us before you register and we’ll issue a coupon code to waive the chip deposit. There are five more opportunities to join us this fall:

    • November 18 at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights
    • November 19 at Lembi Park in Folsom
    • December 9 & 10 at Johnson-Springview Park in Rocklin
    • December 16 at Folsom Lake/Granite Beach

You may also give your chip to a friend and (s)he can return it on your behalf.

    Option 2.) Mail it Back
If you’re not in the area the rest of the season, you can mail it back to us following these steps:

    1. Securely wrap and tape your chip in newspaper, bubble wrap, or thick cardstock.*
    2. Place your wrapped chip in an envelope addressed to:
      Clipped In for Life
      4818 Golden Foothill Pkwy #4
      El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
    3. Please include either (a) the email address tied to your PayPal account or (b) a self-addressed, stamped envelope so we can mail your refund.
    4. Add stamps (we’ve been advised that 5 should do the trick).
    5. Drop it in the mail!

*We’ve had envelopes rip open and the chips never arrive when they’re not padded. You will not receive your deposit if the chip is missing or damaged due to incorrect packaging.

  • Where do I park and is there a cost?

Parking is free! Use the main parking lot entrance on Midas Rd (4201 Midas Ave, Rocklin, CA 95677). If this lot fills up, ample street parking is available on Midas (no parking on the park entrance road). Please be courteous of neighbors and do not block driveways.

  • What can families do?

Sunset Whitney Recreation Area offers tons of open space to roam, plus 5 miles of trails to explore on foot or bike. Just across Midas Ave, Clover Valley Park has a play structure for the little ones to enjoy.

  • What is there to eat?

Allen BBQ & Burgers will be joining us at Sunset Whitney on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

The Urbane Coffee cart will also be out at this race to fuel your caffeine addiction.

  • Will there be beer?

Why yes… yes there will! Enjoy fresh, local, craft beer from Bike Dog. Beers are $5 and proceeds support Clipped In for Life.

  • Are there any nearby overnight accommodations?

There are several hotels within a 10 minute drive from Sunset Whitney Recreation Area. Click here to explore options through Placer Valley Tourism.

Overnight camping is not allowed at Sunset Whitney. The closest campground is Beals Point Campground at Folsom Lake. Click here to reserve online (search Folsom Lake).
